Bill Stevens, PE, GE, Principal Geotechnical Engineer |
|
Bill has a variety of geotechnical engineering and construction experience in California and the western US. He has worked on projects and is registered in Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah. Bill has extensive experience working on electrical substation, electric transmission line, natural gas pipeline, and dam projects located throughout northern California for PG&E. His experience includes school and college projects with DSA oversight, hospitals and medical facilities under OSHPD jurisdiction, utility agency projects, shopping centers, and commercial/industrial developments. His geological engineering background reinforces his experience in quarry site assessments and rock slope stability evaluations. |

Steve Tsang, PE, GE, Principal Geotechnical Engineer |

Steve has extensive civil and geotechnical engineering experience in California and Hong Kong, China. He has been in charge of numerous major projects including major residential hillside developments, high-rise buildings, levees and dams, bridges, and temporary shoring for deep excavations. His expertise includes seismic response analysis, deep foundation design, liquefaction assessment, seepage analyses, and landslide mitigation. |

James Pierce, Supervisor, Soil Technicians |

Jim supervises the earthwork technicians. He specializes in heavy equipment mass grading projects such as levees and hillside developments. He works closely with developers, contractors, local and state agencies. Jim has worked on over 500 large grading projects from mass grading, landslide stabilization, underground utility installation, pad grading and roadway improvements. He has observed and tested the placement and compaction of over 75 million cubic yards of soil and bedrock material. |

Russell Bryson, Supervisor, Inspectors |

Russ is in charge of the Special Inspection department at BGC, and his duties are to verify that inspections are performed in accordance with CBC, ICC, UBC, ACI and ASTM standards. He is responsible for field inspections, personnel recruitment and technical training of field personnel. He reviews field reports and laboratory results for conformance with project approved plans and specifications. Russ works closely with local building officials, developers, contractors, structural and civil engineers. |

Frank Berlogar, PE, GE, President |
|
Frank maintains active technical management of most projects undertaken by the firm. His experience includes extensive involvement on numerous waterfront projects on San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, including over twenty-five Bay Mud projects at Foster City and Redwood Shores. Frank has broad experience on large hillside developments having directed geotechnical design and construction on dozens of projects involving several million cubic yards of grading and stabilizing hundreds of landslides. He also was the principal reviewer on dozens of dam and levee stability evaluations in California to meet DSOD and FERC requirements. Frank also specializes in quarry site assessments and SMARA reclamation plan consulting. |
